Public Service Announcement

Off to chase the butterflies.

… not really. I’m going to Malaysia to visit my grandmother from 1st to 9th April, so I won’t be updating this. No internet over there ;_; Check back next time.

It could have been much worse, Ruka-pyon…

I’ve been wanting to draw Gakuen Alice fanart. And of course, I ended up wanting to draw Ruka-pyon in drag, but when I looked around my bookshelves for Snow White and the Seven Dwarves for reference pictures of the dress, all I could find was Beauty and the Beast. Hence, this resulted:

*wipes up nosebleed* I’m sorry, Ruka-pyon. … I swear, it’s the bookshelf’s fault! *blames other things*

Belle’s bright yellow dance(?) dress is more revealing than Snow White’s. When I was a kid, I did wonder about the clothes Jasmine (Aladdin) and Belle wore, but ehhh. I’m digressing.

So! If the play they put up in Gakuen Alice was Beauty and the Beast instead of Snow White, Ruka would be Belle, and Mikan would probably be the beast (hence she’s wearing paws, even though it isn’t very clear in the picture. She’s supposed to have some sort of head gear too, but I didn’t know how to draw the Beast). Of course, there’d be alot of switch-arounds which aren’t as appropriate as the roles the characters originally take on (like, what would Natsume be? A hyena????), but then we’d be thinking too hard, so nevermind.

*draws lousy poses*

I just wanted something different, I guess? Har har. Had no idea what to draw, so after much thinking, I drew this.:

I ought to name her. But I hate naming my characters. *checks Japanese girls names site* … errrr… when I think up of an appropriate name, I’ll name her. =_=;;

Oh yeah, I got Photoshop back! :D! That’s why this picture isn’t lopsided.

Koge-Donbo + Death Note = ?

So I took a 2 day break. Wut. I was tired due to irl stuff and I’m currently kind of slumpy, stfu.

Uhhhh… I recently chanced upon some Koge-Donbo manga and got it. (Koge-Donbo is the person who drew Di Gi Charat and Pita-ten, for those who don’t know.) So far, I have no idea what the Japanese title is, and I haven’t really heard much about it and truthfully speaking, the story’s a tad odd (the main character being a girl who’s “god” ehhhh I don’t know)… well anyway.

Raito from Death Note, Koge-Donbo style. Lol!?!?

I’m still having problems getting Photoshop installed, so I’m still using oC and I can’t seem to scan straight, so you guys (3 or 4 of you? I have no idea how many people bother to come here. Hi there if I don’t know you. :D) get lopsided pictures.

O Photoshop y do u h8 me s0 T^T

This entry isn’t worth putting up…

… I don’t know what to draw. =_=;;

Random angry expression for Saisho. Har har har. And random little small thingys of Saigo and Saisho. Honestly, if you guys have anything that you’d like to see drawn, feel free to comment. I don’t promise anything, but it’s likely to make me more inclined to draw something.

… I half want to post up those Death Note sketches on the DN community to see how people would react to girl!Raito and Misa!L.

Saigo & Saisho. I hope I got their names right.

Filed under: Originals — Xin @ 2:46 pm

I drew up original characters once again. x_x;; Introducing… Saigo and Saisho.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

… Now that I look at it, I think I scanned this in lopsided too. …. whoops. Now Saigo looks like he can’t stand properly. Urrrkk??

Anyway, the one on the left is Saisho and the one on the right is Saigo, as you can tell from the names written above them. … Saisho means something like “first”, while Saigo, “last”. … But I actually want their names written in Hiragana?

(… if I’m making horrible horrible mistakes, please tell me. Because I don’t know if I’m giving them decent names. T_T This is why I hate naming my original characters.)

Profile for Saigo
Name: Saigo. (… no last name for now. … x_x;;)
Gender: Male
Age: 14? (I’m likely to mess around with this. … In the above sketch they just look young because I gave them big eyes and round faces. O shush.)
Birthday: 31st Dec
Blood type: … *randomly comes up with one* AB.
Distinctive features: … Earring on his left ear?
Personality: Lazy. (He can’t be bothered to get his hair cut, so he just pushes all his hair back and out of his face.) But smart. Has strong ideas of his own. Won’t do anything unless he has a reason to. Or unless he likes it. And uhhh very protective of his brother. He’s more laid-back and can’t be bothered.

Profile for Saisho
Name: Saisho
Gender: Male
Age: 14…
Birthday: 1st Jan
Blood type: AB
Distinctive features: Earring on his right ear. (I’m so horribly unimaginative ;_;)
Personality: Protective of his brother, but sees him as a rival as well. Hence he’s more hardworking, and easily frustrated because his brother seems to do well even when he’s so lazy. At the same time he admires him.

This profile thing is difficult…

Yeah, they’re twins. I made my twins guys instead. Saigo’s actually the older one. They were born 62 seconds apart (I love coming up with random stupid numbers), and Saigo was born on 31st December, while Saisho, 1st January. Hence their names. … Speaking of which, I’ve always wondered how people figure out exactly what time the baby’s born. When the head first comes out? When the whole body comes out? Is there someone in the operating room who actually takes note of the time? What about the babies that aren’t born in the hospital? Do they have no birthtime? …

Okay, I’ll shut up.

Here’s Saigo’s first design. He was supposed to be some type of half-beast. … But y’know, what the hell do I do with a half beast? … His horns amused me, though… … … x_X;;

o sketches!

*whistles* I’m back, my lovelies. Why the scanner wasn’t working yesterday: I forgot about the extra configuration that I had to do after installing Window’s service pack two or something. …. *headwall*

No matter. I used openCanvas (thanks Cin-jie! :D) to sort of clean up my sketches today because I haven’t gotten Photoshop back, and I think it was actually quite a sloppy job because I don’t know my way around oC very well. Hur. So expect messier stuff or something.

My days away from the computer weren’t that productive (I’m lazy, stfu), but yeah, I have more than one sketch today. Beware spam. Just be glad that it isn’t showing up on your Flist.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

… Raito from Death Note, cross-gender. I think Raito’d make a pretty, professional lady. … Hur?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

… … L from Death Note. I’d say it’s cross-dressing rather than cross-gender, but whutdahell. I figured since L’s a Misamisa fan (he does say so in one of the chapters), s/he might copy the way Misa dresses. And old habits are hard to break, so… panty shot! Panty shots amuse me somewhat. They make me want to bang my head against the wall due to the sheer fanservice (… Kiddy Grade had quite a few panty shots…), but at the same time, they amuse me. And uh… I erased away the “o gods” that I wrote on the paper while drawing it. … … I did spend quite a few minutes gaping at the horror that I’d drawn.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Ryoma from TeniPuri, with lame One Piece reference. I was rereading volume one of One Piece recently and… up to now, it’s still a mystery to me how Zoro can control a sword in his mouth. …. … So that’s Ryoma. Three racquet style.

…. *weeps*

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yey, something sane! … sorta. Okita from Peacemaker Kurogane. Wut. I just made him tie up his hair.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Random stupid sketch of Suzu from Peacemaker Kurogane, but his hair annoyed me and I didn’t draw the top part of his head properly. It’s also lopsided because I didn’t scan him in straight, and I can’t seem to find the option for abitrary rotation. … Rolly-polly head Suzu.

… And I have 2 other sketches that I want to put up, but I’ll put them in a separate entry because they’re original characters. With profiles. (Sorta.)

Stuff.

Filed under: Blather — Xin @ 1:50 am

Lovely, looks like my attempt to update everyday is about to go down the drain. … Uhhh the laptop I usually use crashed. Currently using my sister’s to update. … So don’t expect new sketches here. When I next update with a sketch will depend on 3 factors:

whether I have access to:
- a computer which I can somewhat call my “primary” computer
- a scanner
- Photoshop or at least a decent image-editing program.

Hahahha mouse art time Naw, probably not…

And something I’ve realized: … I’ve been getting all my dates wrong. I’ve been living in the past!!111 … (Look back at the dates that I’d written on some of the sketches and compare them with the entry dates. … lol.)

HikaGo stuff.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I’ve been surprisingly productive recently. Pretty much surprised that I managed to keep up with this daily sketch thing… Actually, the only reason why I keep up with it is probably because I just want to see how long I can continue this without stopping. (Even though I seem to be posting up quantity rather than quality…) When the slump comes along I’ll just flop around. It’s like PMS, but not.

That said, the picture. Touya Akira (left) and Shindou Hikaru (right) from Hikaru no Go. I know, I’m probably cheating by drawing simply the heads. -_- Anyway. HikaGo is another series that I have no idea why I like. … Actually, I do. But it’s about Go. T_T I still don’t know much about playing Go even after watching/reading HikaGo. At least I know more about tennis after watching Prince of Tennis? (Even though PoT is full of fanservice nowadays…) And I’m learning about skating with Yuuto. :D

Is crappy sketch better than no sketch?

Filed under: Originals — Xin @ 12:33 pm

… I don’t quite think so. In my case anyway. Yet I’m still updating…

More original character stuff. This is a he. He’s supposed to have a twin sister, but the twin sister didn’t want to be drawn or something. I want to draw twins and give them cool matching names [/lame]! But… I’m not too sure if he’s going to get a twin sister after all… I’m either going to change his hairdo, or take some time to get used to it. I dunno, we’ll see. Random note: I gave him muu-ears! (Muu as in Muuchan from tactics.)
