Heimdall from Matantei Loki. T_T I’m sorry that it came out so simple… but I couldn’t think of any funny settings to put Heimdall in. x_X;;

We’ve been doing cartooning in school 8D Well, the assignment was to create a character. I doodled a whole lot, and yet I’m still not really pleased with what I churned out… T__T I didn’t want to use Mana and Ari because it was just difficult to give Mana a proper personality. And explaining what’s with the scyth? “Uhhh, she’s a death god. Yeah.”

Ryn (pronounced “Rin”) is a new character I came up with (after doodling Howl-lookalikes, gothic lolita wannabes, random spikey haired guys, etc.). It’s a rather big picture, so thumbnail~

I dunno. Her choice of weapons are double daggers because I’m lame and I’ve always liked double daggers. (And bow and arrow, mmmgoaway.)

Those’re just my first sketches of her; I’d probably change a couple of things because drawing it on A3. :/

First off, shoujo requests are basically ganguro!Sanada (TeniPuri) and Temari!Gaara (NARUTO). If anyone’s actually curious, comment and I’ll explain the… uh… reasons behind these pictures.

Eh, what else? Eatpoo’s Guide for Art Noobs. It has tips for drawing, and even though it says it’s for noobs, it’s pretty helpful for people who aren’t satisfied with their art and drawing style and stuff like that. Loads of people tend to forget their basics (including myself). And also, it’s really tough to learn from your basic stuff, because most of the time people just want to come up with something pleasing even if they aren’t ready for it. Hell, I myself know that I’m not ready for loads of things, but I just try them out anyway. XD;;

I really need to take note of light, for example. Gods, my colouring suck. I gotta try out shading with the complimentary colours (I’m rereading EatPoo’s thing again).

It’s all part of learning, really. But if you want to be good, you have be good at your basics, before going on to more ambitous things. *stabs anatomy* Since I’ve never taken proper art classes before Design school (I don’t consider Sec 1 and 2 Art as proper lessons), I’m hoping to force myself back to my basics. Yeah, I hate drawing buildings. Too bad, gotta learn it. It’s tough when you realize that you can’t draw a lot of things. Practice, practice, practice. :/ One fine day you’d get there.

… For those who don’t know, MMPPP is a magical mermaid series that absolutely DRIPS with shoujo-ness (no pun intended!). It’s about a bunch of girls who are really mermaid princesses (there’s the wonderful twirling shiny transformation scene included too!), and to defeat the bad guys… they sing. I am dead serious.

I’m taking Design in school now, so I get to do nonsense stuff that I would have never touched if I were still drawing for fun. Uhm. Some of them aren’t exactly stuff that I love, and I’m not very good compared to loads of people, but anyway. 8D;

Started doing portraits for Drawing Fundamentals last week. … I so much prefer doing portraits to drawing buildings. T_T For the first few weeks of school we drew buildings and I went around getting Cs and even a D. Ahahahahaha~ Anyway, I took some model in some magazine and drew her. Don’t really like copying anymore, especially after doing so much fanart. I personally believe in having your own style, so copying is difficult for me. With fanart, I liked to draw a character belonging to someone else with a touch of my own style.

I digress. So. This is my 2nd try at portrait drawing and my first try at colouring using chalk pastels. Chalk pastels are fun to use~~~

Raw scan can be found here. I’ve got a nasty habit of using dark, plain colours that make the whole picture look really dull. I love Photoshop, yey.

Something I doodled for Drawing Fundamentals, because I was too lazy to draw another face to practise colouring. Mana is cranky because I didn’t draw Ari in and I also didn’t draw her clothes properly (her ribbon thing is missing). Oops.

Also, I don’t have the raw scan to put up because I accidentally saved over it and am too lazy to rescan.

For typography. I don’t quite like typography. Anyway, the assignment was to create a set of 26 “impressive letters”, and I drew animals into my set. :D;;; I can’t say it turned out wonderful or superbly neat, but give me a break.

I also have a lovely terror thing that I drew for Mainey. Tezuka + Cutey Honey. It’s part of the shoujo-style nonsense I’m currently doing, and WHOEVER WHO LIKES TEZUKA SHOULD NOT CLICK. I personally deeply dislike Tezuka, though I don’t have a particular reason as to why I dislike him. When Mainey requested him, I knew I was going to ruin him. >D
